Located in the Yawata area at a slight remove from central Kyoto, featuring many great attractions: the World Heritage Site Iwashimizu Hachimangu Shrine; Yodogawa Riverside Park, famous for cherry blossoms in spring; Nagarebashi, Japan's longest extant wooden bridge, often seen in historical dramas; and the 45-kilometer-long Yawata-Kizu Cycling Road, extending from Kyoto Arashiyama to Nara.
